Channel 8 ZAMBONI Arrive Chubbuck Idaho

Channel 8 News Story

By: Genevieve Judge, Reporter

The Chubbuck-Pocatello Hockey Association showed off their first ever Zamboni Thursday afternoon in Chubbuck at Capell Park.

The Zamboni machines are two professional-level ice-maintaining machines from Canada. They’ll be used to give a smooth, outdoor ice-skating surface all winter long in the City of Chubbuck.

The development of the ice rink will happen over the next few months with a target opening date, cold temperatures providing, in mid-December.

It will be free and open to the public.

  1. Dan West says:

My Mother in Law is Joan Zamboni and she loves Eastern Idaho and will be here this winter spending time w/us. Her Father was Laurence Zamboni and played a very large part in the making of the very first ice machines. Joan was also a Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal winner in worlds figure skating between 1955 and 1957. I would like to bring her to the Chubbuck Ice Rink when it opens this December.
My question is where and when, our whole Family ice skates and it would be fun to stop by.
