Volunteer Members of the Board laid out white  reflective sheeting donated by several sign companies.

The 1st layer of water was then sprayed to soak into the ground to create the base for the ice sheet.

Asad- I will provide a link to the Ontario Recreational Facilities Association manual for creating and maintaining outdoor ice. It includes some great information for creating ice on a variety of surfaces and conditions. Aside from having the necessary temperature range for building ice, a very level foundation will reduce the amount of water needed initially to become level. The reflective properties of a using a lighter colored foundation will reduce heat absorption from the sun which leads to ice loss during the season. Commercially produced ice rink liner kits are available from several sources online.
