Dual Rink Building

By Philipfshaw | February 17, 2009

Pocatello Hockey Association’s Capital Campaign

Kids need a place to play!

The Pocatello Hockey Association (PHA) was formed in 1997 to provide recreational roller hockey opportunities for Southeast Idaho Youth.

We’ve grown from a handful of participants to hundreds of families who participate in recreational and competitive roller hockey in five different age divisions.

Unfortunately, the warehouse we occupied was demolished to make room for a new Lowe’s shopping development.

The City of Chubbuck has agreed to lease us land in Capell Park, near the city offices.

Pape Homes, Inc. has agreed to donate their general contracting services and we are working with several banks to secure the necessary loan. The building will look much like the one depicted below, a dual rink inline hockey facility that was recently completed in suburban Denver.

The building will be constructed in two phases. Ground breaking for phase I, the first rink and center services building (dressing rooms, pro shop, concession stand), will begin once the association has raised 20% of the building costs, approximately $110,000. Phase II, the second rink, will begin once the million dollar goal is reached. Phase II could include compressors for an ice rink, if the league determines that finances and membership growth can sustain that development.

We estimate the building will have almost 75,000 visits in the first year alone.

By year five, we are expecting more than 200,000 yearly visits.

The CPHA is asking for donations to assist with this project.

There are a variety of ways to support our efforts including direct (tax deductible) contributions, purchasing board advertising, or purchasing naming rights.
